World Beyond War Free Film for Local Events

I am sharing this here so hopefully more will see it, I am not associated with the group that organized or sent this out, so you will have to click the links to get info.
Thanks. Peace.

At #NoWar2017 we screened an amazing film called Scarred Lands and Wounded Lives: The Environmental Footprint of War. Then we asked who would want to use the film for a local event, and every hand in the place went up. It’s a film that powerfully conveys the environmental impact of war, and we’re in luck.

Documentary filmmakers Alice & Lincoln Day have generously offered to waive a Community Screening Licensing fee ($89 savings) through November 11th (Armistice Day) to all World Beyond War members. The waiver allows you to host a public screening for up to 200 people, with permission to charge admission, and raise funds at the events through other avenues. To eequest the waiver, just email Margaret Poindexter at mpoindexter5300 [AT] gmail [DOT] com with “Waiver Request” in the subject line.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a World Beyond War chapter. Take this opportunity to form one!

But that’s just one type of event you can plan for on or around November 11th. The important thing is to plan something, large or small, and let us know to list it here. You can deliver a petition to a target. You can gather signatures or hand out flyers, or knock on doors, or watch videos, or discuss books, or invite a World Beyond War speaker, or present a powerpoint, or make posters, or sit-in a Congressional office, or picket a weaponsmaker, or plan a divestment campaign. The resources for all these kinds of events are here.

November 11 is Armistice Day / Remembrance Day. Ninety-nine years ago, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, fighting ceased in the “war to end all wars.” People went on killing and dying right up until the pre-designated moment, impacting nothing other than our understanding of the stupidity of war.

Educate people about Armistice / Remembrance Day.
